Vow
I vow that my mood will not hinder my work, but my honesty toward it will shape it. I take my mommentary experiences seriously and treat them as inspiration; and as the theme of the work becomes clearer, I weigh the extent to which I allow them into the rehearsal room.
I vow to approach my collaborators with an open heart. Based on the positive experiences gained during the research period, I assume good intentions regarding their ideas, and therefore I do not judge our disagreements on a scale of right and wrong, but with a sincere curiosity about how and why.
I vow that in the course of my work I will not ignore the fact that the world is vast, Europe is small within it, Hungary smaller still, within it Budapest, and us, who are creating in this moment—even if we primarily articulate our thoughts for our own audience.
I vow to celebrate the privilege of being able to create as an artist. Neither guilt nor dissatisfaction will interfere with my work; if they arise, I will strive to communicate them productively or naturally, to overcome them, or to work together with them.
