Dioscorea Mexicana The Dioscorea Mexicana, also known as Mexican Yam, is a revolutionary plant from the XX century, since it’s rich in diosgenin which was extracted to produce oral contraceptives and synthetic hormones, I used one of this plants in my show and I wished I used many more to research on queer ecologies and alternative ways of accessing HTR

Think inside the box This is the scenography element from performance “Femina” (2022) by choreographer Sabīne Neilande and scenographer Līga Ūbele, both Latvian collective members.
This specific box was actually found in a dumpster and used only in rehearsals, because it turned out to be too small for one dancer. But during this residency week we explored different possibilities, and it turned out to be big enough for at least three people and became a space for many choreographic experiments.
It opened up layers of associations -it’s a transformer, it grows limbs, it’s a mythological hybrid fairy, it’s an optical illusion, it’s a practical table, it’s a coffin, it’s a mermaids tail, it’s a Hesburger drive thru where you can pick up dead mouse and spiders meal on the way.

Villa Soundscape Asturias A moment to walk, to breathe, to be in Asturias, listen to everything, saving it in the memory of the body, a body that was born here and everywhere, that is changing every moment and still remembers.

Czech Collective Sound Collage Our goal was to use the sounds we worked with during this week (tier 8) and create a single composition that would work independently.
During the week, we were generally interested in acoustic resonance, specifically vibrations through voice and body, bone resonance, folk songs, working environment sounds, and personal recordings from mobile phones.

The Misperception of sound The Misperception of Sound by the Wales / Cymru Collective - over a week of research that explores how sound functions in a Deaf and hearing collective; the sounds of fluent sign language, the sounds of learning sign language, the attempt at movement and sign language in tandem, blindfolded movement translation of sensations and a lunch time drill. The work encapsulates the range of sound we work with as well as the observation of the continual hummmm of sound pollution that’s all around us. It’s recommended that you play this on a large speaker. Sit next to it.
