Tentacular Reflection Cards After the first residency week I sat down for a reflection session with myself using Dixit cards to reverberate some concepts that we co-created while talking about our visions of our future horizontal collaboration and while thinking about my own desire in dance. The reflection went like picking a card, seeing if it evokes a memory of the week or using my notes to find connections and in case it echoed, I labeled it with a concept.

Dickpong experiment_Body Politics In a personal research I was in the working duett of investigating provocative movement patterns, gaze, public space presence and gender expectations.
For the first part we dived into learning different twerk moves and later at home reading up on the history of twerking. Later performing booty shakes while keeping eye-contact with the audience to investigate vulnerability, control, provocation and liberation.
Paralelly i watched tutorial videos of how to behave and move in a masculine way (highly misogyneous content originally aimed at men willing to perform control, masculinity, confidence, power and ‘alfa energy’ in everyday situations)
We did an experiment in which we performed twerking for our colleagues in the studio and directly after entering a public space to transform and exist with alfa male energy and our bodies led us to the discovery of our new favourite sport: dickpong.

Different approaches for collective decision making We spent the week thinking about topics or themes that are urgent for us individually and proposing them to the collective for finding shared interests and common causes. Beyond this, we have mostly experimented with diverse decision making processes that span a wide range of approaches from authoritarian decision making to drawing tarot cards and intuitively interpreting them to arrive at a decision. However, the democratic decision making seemed the most familiar or comfortable for the majority of the collective as we eventually chose that for our contribution. The particular voting system that we used as democratic decision making is introduced in detail. The audio is also supported by a written document.

Flexible statements of repetition This is the illustration of a phenomenon we realised through a task proposed by Helén Tamaskó, based on a 'Tuning Scores' exercise. The task was to move in a repetition with 2 other people, and when you feel connected with the others, say 'start' and close your eyes. With the eyes closed, keep on being in unison, but change your movement as you feel the others are changing it too. The action I do in repetition feels like a statement. To constantly try and change a bit your repetition in order to be in unison, and all of this with closed eyes, seems a very beautiful way to be flexible in your statement. To not give up your own but still aim for a common reality - it's not a compromise but a tuning.

EVERYBODY IS A GENIUS In theatre impro situations, there is a basic rule : " Your partner is a genius" aka go with the flow, also known in other contexts as "yes, AND" attitude.
Last week - and the week before - we operated according to this decision mechanism most often. Every word and idea of the week was equally significant and all without exception made it into the weekly work plan, and then organically in proportion to time and energy they were or were not implemented. And we were all OK with that.
However, an important circumstance is that there is no real stake in our decisions at the moment - there is an invitation about the format to the weekly contribution, but it is free enough to allow anything to be included. We are not preparing for a performance, but if we do, 7 artists with different tastes, styles, desires, backgrounds... when there is no possibility for so many "yes, AND "s, and yes we should say then “NO”s.
- so as a decision mechanism, it is really specific.
This is what I wanted to share, that I felt no real decision in these cases.

Waiting and drifting video edition Waiting and drifting appeared in two decision making processes this week. There is a situation where the need for a decision arises, but the group collectively drifts into sustaining the current state (waiting) and not gonna make that decision until it becomes unavoidable. This drifting can be conscious or subconscious. Consequently, certain decisions may be excluded.

Reverso Audio guide This audio guide was made in collaboration with András Engelmann for a community event of Sín Arts Centre. I mostly worked on the content of it while András edited the text and the sound. Our inspiration was the research and exchanges of the week about modality/mode/media and our common curiosity in the audio guide format. This audio work guides participants through an exploration of the spaces of Sín, however, it could also be applied for other spaces. It is in Hungarian but you can also find the transcript in English.
